Welcome to The Studio by the beach
Having lived in this beautiful part of Cornwall for nearly 20 years we now want to be able to share the experience of being right on the doorstep of one of Cornwall's most stunning seaside locations . Guests will have the rare opportunity of staying in our enviably located and recently refurbished studio overlooking Porthtowan’s ‘Blue Flag’ award winning beach and surfing destination. With the beautiful coastal path on the doorstep, this makes the perfect base to enjoy Cornwall 's Atlantic coast. Whether it is a day on the beach, surfing or swimming, walking the magnificent and rugged coastline, enjoying your breakfast as you watch the surfers and rolling waves, or experiencing dramatic sunsets, winter skies or stormy seas, be assured that this is an experience not to be missed.
4 miles from the A30, 9 miles from the City of Truro, 14 miles to the south coast, Porthtowan is a good base from which to explore this part of Cornwall.
Porthtowan boasts surf schools, shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes so there is even no need to get in the car until you leave. Close by also offers bike hire for the numerous cycle trails, horse-riding and golf.
A daily breakfast hamper and a choice of wines are available for our guests to purchase.
THE SPACE
With private parking right outside, guests enter The Studio through a glass door that overlooks a private deck and seating area facing the beach where you will be rewarded with amazing sunsets and sea views. The light interior has open plan living with double sofa, table and 2 chairs, Smart TV ,Wi-Fi, and a concealed kitchenette with kettle, toaster, 2 zone hob, mini fridge/ freezer, microwave and basic utensils to prepare a simple meal. Please note there is no oven or dishwasher.
The tastefully decorated bedroom area with with seaside views from the double bed, has cushions, throw, side tables, chest of drawers with pull-out desk, mirror, and rugs. We use high quality Egyptian bed linen and feather down down duvets and pillows, but synthetic duvets and pillows are available on request at time of booking.
A door leads from the living area to a small hallway where there is a spacious cupboard for guests to put coats, shoes, luggage, and a doorway to the compact bathroom containing shower, vanity unit and toilet.
Your apartment is adjacent to our family home and whilst we offer our guests complete privacy, we are a stone's throw away should you have any needs or enquiries.
Please bear in mind that we have a friendly cat and dog, however, who may cross your path every now and then.
Prices start at £110 per night with the option of a daily breakfast hamper at £8.00 per person.

Housekeeping
Bedlinen, bathrobes and towels will be changed mid-stay on bookings longer than 7 days.
Check-out is by 10 am to enable us to clean for our next guests.
Don't forget to ask if you prefer synthetic bedding
OUR SERVICES
Please note that in addition to the nightly rate we charge our guests a one-off cleaning fee of £25 per stay.
Breakfast
Breakfast is an optional extra at £8.00pp and can be pre-ordered at time of booking
The kitchenette is supplied with fresh coffee, a selection of teas, milk and sugar.
The breakfast hamper will be delivered to your door every morning containing fresh orange juice, yoghurt, seasonal fresh fruit and a choice of one of the following:
breakfast bagel, croissant, homemade muffin, bacon butty.
We will ask you to let us know the day before what your choice is for the following day by ticking a box on the form that comes with your breakfast. The menu is subject to change.
Please let us know any dietary requirements in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Free Wifi
'Guests have access to free WiFi and a Smart TV. Please note that the mobile signal in the village is weak.
Transfers and lifts
We would be happy to arrange a taxi for you from the airport /railway station or to and from local restaurants.

Private parking for one car in the bay on the property.
Outside space
Enjoy Al fresco dining, morning coffee or an evening drink while you watch the sun go down from your private deck at the front of The Studio.

THINGS TO DO
Located within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Porthowan's Blue Flag award winning beach is one of Cornwall’s most popular surfing destinations, bordered by soft golden sand and backed by large dunes and dramatic cliffs. From the beach at low tide, you can walk to the neighbouring and equally stunning beach at Chapel Porth.
Walking and Hiking
Hike the rugged SW coast path right on our doorstep. We are perfectly based for an overnight stop on route. Walk around historic gardens, stroll through seaside towns like St. Ives or the lovely old market town of Truro, there is walking for all abilities
History, Culture and Gardens
Cornwall boasts many historical sites, stately homes and gardens, and is steeped in history with both its mining and maritime heritage .
Porthtowan is in the World Heritage area between St.Agnes, Redruth and Portreath
Wildlife
Explore rock pools, look out for seals and dolphins, we are also a haven for bird watching including the Cornish chough which has recently made a come back.
Leisure Activities
Porthtowan is best known for its surfing and Blue Flag beach and offers a seasonal life guard service. There is much more to do here though, including
horse riding, golf, kayaking, bike hire, cycle trails, adventure parks, family days out, boat trips and lots more.

Eating out
There are a lot of excellent restaurants in Cornwall and Porthtowan has the famous Blue Bar, The Unicorn on The Beach, cafes, ice cream parlour ,Fish and Chips, and the well stocked shop also sells fresh pasties so there is no need to drive to find places to eat.
Beaches
You will be spoilt for choice with the many beautiful beaches and hidden coves, but you don't need to venture far as Porthtowan has wide golden sands, spectacular sea & surf, rock pools, towering cliffs and a tidal swimming pool
